So far in our series, “Mind Games”, we’ve talked about the Christian’s need to focus on truth rather than lies, and things that are worthy of respect rather than the vulgar and debased. We talked about how we should focus on things that are right and pure. Now this month, we’ve moving on toward Paul’s next command: “Think about things that are lovely.”
It’s the typical Friday night in my house, and that means pizza! What it used to mean was that after a long day at work we’d finally come home and one of us would have to leave again to go plunk down our hard earned $30 or so for an artery clogging pizza and a dozen wings with blue cheese.

The Cost of the Revolution
Over the past few months, we've been talking about the Holy Spirit’s call for each of us to experience a spiritual revolution as we find our significance in Christ. Perhaps as you've been reading along, you hear Him calling you to a personal revolution---deep, dramatic, sweeping changes---a wholehearted commitment to Christ. Over the past few month’s you’ve heard us talking about all of the benefits that come from allowing Christ to revolutionize your life, and you want it. You want to be set free from generational iniquities. You want to stop being bound by addictions. You want to find your identity in Christ. You crave healthy, holy relationships with others. You love the idea of living in financial freedom. All of the benefits of the revolution are tremendously appealing to you. This month, I feel like the Holy Spirit is challenging each and every one of us to ask ourselves the question, “What is a Spiritual Revolution worth to me?” Join us as we talk about:
As I sat coloring shapes with the three year old, Jacey, who I babysit, we were singing an old hymn, “Great is Thy faithfulness.” As my heart felt so overwhelmed by God’s love and faithfulness to me, I was reminded of God’s unfailing love and goodness. Then this Scripture came to my mind:
Lamentations 3:22-23 “It is because of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.”

Some days motherhood can seem like a long and fruitless season of planting. It is easy to feel as though seed pouring from our lives is producing little results in the lives of our children. Don’t believe it! The faithful tending of a child’s heart will in time, every time, produce something beautiful for God.
As soon as I read these words on the Christ Community Church Women’s Ministry webpage, I was inspired. What an amazing passion! Realizing that everything you’ve gone through and every obstacle and sin you’ve overcome, everything you’ve learned and every victory you’ve gained creates a foundation on which the next generation can build. Each of us is called to be “spiritual mothers” to those who are younger in age and in spiritual maturity. We are called to teach them, encourage them, and train them in the ways of God, enabling them to reach new heights for the Kingdom of God.
The truth is that I don’t always like to wait. I prefer to be in control of situations rather than trust another person or even God to keep their word and fulfill their promises. There are definitely days when I’m tempted to simply take matters into my own hands, and just solve a problem rather than waiting for God to bring the solution.
Now it’s super healthy, costs about $10 (and that’s if you buy special toppings), tastes fresher and more delicious than anything you can buy at a pizzeria, and is a family activity. What’s better than that? ?
